My first attempted at a lemon meringue pie

I tried baking for the first time and I can tell you I failed! My pastry was overcooked so it was hard as stone and my filling  oozed out the minute I cut the pie. Fortunately the pie tasted amazing so it wasn't a complete disaster ;)

Guess I'll never become a world renowned pastry chef... Ah well, I enjoy pasta more anyway... ;)

Shrimp with chorizo and pasta alle vongole

Valentine's day is my favourite day of the year so this year being the first year I have a girlfriend on valentine's day I had to make it special! I decided to do what am good at and cook a nice meal for her. She loves, no ADORES shrimp and mussels so I used that knowledge in my dishes.

For our starter I made delicious shrimp with chorizo and tomato sauce and the main course was a lovely pasta vongole which my girlfriend actually helped me prepare. Well.. She tried helping but she's such a clutz in the kitchen! Thankfully I love cooking so she has to clean up after my cooking spree ;)

2015 resolutions

Welcome to my cooking blog!

For a couple of years now I've wanted to start cooking and experimenting in the kitchen, but I was always to afraid to make a fool out of myself. At the beginning of this year I came across a quote "Even the greatest master had to start from zero" and it reminded of my dream to become a home-cook.
